Welcome to the Harvard Club of Cincinnati!

Since 1869, we have been a home for those affiliated with Harvard University who live in the Greater Cincinnati area.  Membership is open to all who have graduated from, studied at, taught at or received an honorary degree from Harvard University.  Graduates from the last three years can join for free by contacting our treasurer and membership chair, Katie Nappi at fehskensk@hotmail.com. Current undergraduates and their parents are invited to attend our events.

We may have left Cambridge, but we can still enjoy the friendships, intellectual challenges and service to the University and community that we knew at Harvard.  Check out our full calendar of programs then come out and join us!  We want to meet you!

Valerie Bogdan-Powers, Harvard College
Harvard Club President, 2014-15

About forty alumni and family members had a great time at the annual picnic!  Thanks to everyone for coming out.  Good luck to all our new Harvardians as they begin life in Cambridge!

Look for details of our Opening Reception, a free, casual gathering for all area alums!  Coming soon in September!

Do you have an interest in Political Theory?  A small discussion group has recently formed around this topic. We meet once a month for dinner at Jean Robert's Table and discuss a mutually agreed upon text. We have had only one meeting at which we discussed Yuval Levin's The Great Debate: Edmund Burke, Thomas Paine, and the Birth of Right and Left. Given the centrality of Enlightenment rationality to that debate, we have decided that our next meeting will discuss Rousseau's The Social Contract. Nothing has been definitely decided after that, but some possibilities mentioned have included:

de Tocqueville. Democracy in America
F. A. Hayek, The Road to Serfdom
John Maynard Keynes, The General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money

Sound interesting? Contact Lori Nuckolls, Nuckolls@BlankRome.com for next meeting date and time.

A remodeled website on a new platform is under construction!  We'll have the same URL with a fresh look and greater functionality.

We are excited to announce that Peter K. Bol, Vice Provost for Advances in Learning and Charles H. Carswell Professor of East Asian Languages and Civilization will be joining us for our annual meeting "One Million Learners Later: HarvardX and Harvard's Global Future".  Reservation information will be out in January.
